Some of our clients:
Kodak - has been using our structural and optical ceramics for over 25 years. In 1981, a version of our SiC ceramic was first used as nubbin material – the only technology in the world - for molding world class precision glass lens at high temperatures.
In a completely different area, Kodak also implemented this SiC ceramic technology to redesign and replace steel bearings in chemical delivery pumps for making acetate webs. This patented technology was used to replace more than 10,000 gear pumps and has saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars.
•Kodak has been using zirconia based ceramic components for higher productivity in manufacturing facilities around the world. Some specific uses are:
•Y-TZP precision ceramic rollers and guide rails for film perforating machines – service life improved by 15x
•SiC bushings for gear pumps for delivering chemicals to web coating machines – service life improved by 30x
•Y-TZP brackets and guides for dental x-ray film processing
•Y-TZP/composite ceramic slitter knives for paper manufacturing
•Y-TZP/composite ceramic micro-pump shafts and bushings for precision delivery of photographic emulsion
•Y-TZP air bearings for high speed scanners
•Various wear components for emulsion coating machines
